My safari to Delhi

Hello friends!!!This is a post in my blog after a very long time, but still don expect much from this...
Do you know what have I been doin all these days???
Initially stuck with exams, then came the placement fair which ofcourse stopped me no way but my new roomie vexed me so much that I did not venture to create a post in that stance.......
Just kidding aaaaa!!!!!
Then came the actual tormentor, the so called 'Research Internship' for which I have landed in a desert in the hot summer. Aggravating the situation, a confluence of negative events conspired on me taking me to the depths of agony. It was in this plight, I made a visit to one of my friends in delhi, to cool off myself, for a week end (two days -- saturday and sunday). It was although a trip just for two days, it gave me a lot of experience of metro life. So here follows my narration of the cruise.......................

You know, before I begin anything I should first thank orkut, as I have re-discovered many friends of mine through it and the wholestory started there. It is in this way, I have also met this dude and got to know that he was in delhi and will be leaving on 2nd of july. Me, with an intension to visit delhi already registered in my mind felt that, got a right time to do dhaat. Finally the conception was corroborated by, a colleague of mine also planning to make a visit to his uncle's house at the same time......Thus came to the decision on thursday night...

My Journey to Delhi:
We had started to delhi from pilani at the twenty fourth hour of friday. Finally managed to get seats to sit in the congested fad. The one next to me...started leaning on to me in the bus and me trying to move little farther from him cramming myself into the lille space available. The bus was so crowdy that no air managed to enter inside and the attire getting wet......
Finally reached delhi by 6:00AM on saturday. Then I have taken a metro to 'Pitampura', the then destiny of mine. One good thing is that the metro's have allured me so much, that I got a feel of suddenly landing into a foreign space from this overflowing crowd, may be mainly because of the journey I had on the previous night. Anyway finally reached the place succesfully from where my friend had picked me up in his car to his house.
So here goes the two days experience of mine.......

Day1:
Nothing much to say about it. Had good food after a long time. Nice day...
Everything went fine...They, my friend and his parents, received me well, visited connaght place...spent some time there on the streets accompanied by one more friend of him ..... decided that I'll go for a site seeing tour on the next day in a toorist bus, for 200bugs.....
Watched few movies...telugu and english...Spent infront of internet for sometime, which I'll do where ever I go...Then had nice chat with them for some time...Finally went to bed at 11:00PM...

Day2:
This is really one of the most memorable days in my life. You will realise the reason for that by the time you come to the tail of this part...
My day started at 6:00AM in the morning...Got up at 6:00, then had a bath and I'm taken to karol bagh , southern travels, for the trip.....
I payed 200bugs and got a ticket for the toor which started at 9:00AM...
First they took us to India gate...spent about 30mins there...
By the way even the weather was good and pleasant...
Then visited the so called, ISCON museum, where there is just a sound talk show on bagavadgita for 40rupees, which (the show, not the entry fee) I did not like...Then visited the temple there...
Then followed lotus temple, CCI (some handlooms small scale industry), Qutb Minar, Indira Gandhi Memorial, Red Fort and Rajghat. I had paid 30Rs for a photograph infront of Qutb Minar.
You know one of the interesting things in the trip was the buttler english of the guide.
On a line, the visit started at 9:00AM and ended at 6:30PM...

Now starts the actual story...
The other companion of mine has asked me, on the previous day, for the time that is to be fixed for we people to travel back to pilani. He asked whether I prefer it to be 10:00PM or somewhere around 2:00...Finally we fixed it to be 10:00...
I returned to pitampura by 8:30 and got an info from them that the other person has called for me and gave a message that the last bus is at 10:00PM. And people over there were worrying for me as it was laready getting late. So, had my dinner and left the place and has gone to 'kashmiri Gate' Metro station. Here started the trouble. I'm supposed to reach the ISBT bus station next to it to board the bus. But I was confused of the direction that I should move to reach the station. So, an innocent me asked a person to help me out. He gave me a direction. Then after walking a little distance, I asked another one and he showed me the exactly opposite direction. I was confused as to what I should do. The time was running out. It was already 9:35. So I started runnin in one direction on the roads of delhi. Some how I finally managed to reach the station cursing the one who showed me the wrong direction...Hey just wait!!!!! You know, latter I came to know that there are two entrance paths to the bus stand one from each side...interesting!!!

The time was 9:45...now in the huge area where should I check for the bus??? Again asked for help...and I was given direction to reach platform no 28 in hindi...couldnot understand what in this world is he saying at the first go!!!So went for a second trail...nd things got clear now...
So made a flight to the place...Now the time is 9:55...
I was determined to attend the office the next day and dont want to bunk it for any reason...Do you know the reason??? I want to leave pilani as soon as possible (within 5 and half weeks itself) and if I'm absent I thought that it would create problem when I want to leave the place ....thats all.....

So I have started shouting 'bayya yee bus pilani jayegaa hey kyaaa????' I dont know even if my sentence is right or not!!!!! Got only negative replies from them...Someone told me to ask at the enquiry...So without wasting even a single second I ran to that. The people over there were so adamant, they dont want to answer me for some reason that they probably might be having. After a lot of pestering from me, they finally replied that the bus had already left and asked me to check at the gate...Again where is the Gate???This time, I got a correct answer and I ran to that...waited till 10:20 and realised that bus'z gone. So, made a phone call and informed that I'm coming back to domicile. You know, he did not look at the time, so said OK and the call ended without me receiving any instructions. Hey just wait!!!!! You know now my fate has completely ran to its worse side. Thought of going back to Metro station...But the first thing I got to know was 'Metros end by 10:00PM'.....oops.....so need to take a bus???

OK...I asked a person for the place where I can find some bus to pitampura...By that time an autodriver had taken his turn and said that there will not be any bus available to that place in that late hour and propounded me to take auto which just costs 350Rs. hmmmmm...My heart started throbbing with these words...But I decided not to believe his words...So went few more steps in some random direction without knowing what to do in that 'sticky wicket'...and asked one more person...he said that the last bus will be avaialble at 11:00PM and showed me some direction. I went there and the people over there started saying "the bus' to this specific route will not turn up here, you need to go to the other stop in the far end of the road to catch it" and the conversation ended with their sinister smiles over my kismat. The time was already 10:45...oh god!!!This poor traveller started running on the roads of the capital city once again.....finally reached the place...again heard the comment from a person that I need to go to the former stop...I don know what to do!!! Need to run back to that stop again?? or Do I need to take an auto for 350Rs?? or Do I need to stay in the bus stand for 6more hours?? lot of doubts and questions have popped into my poor, worried, tired, and may be malfunctioning mind with no answers. Then an other person in that stop, having looked at my misery, suggested me to do a break journey. Then a bus had arrived at the stop which will be going to piragarhi or whatever (I dont remember the name exactly). So I boarded it and inside the bus found a person who gave me some suggestions as to how to handle cases like this...(he is of around 30years of age) and said that he would help me in hiring an auto from that place...Thank god!!!...got down at the stop...he hired an auto for me for 35Rs and called home to find out the exact place of the appartment...and I was asked to be dropped at the Metro station so that my friend can pick me up from there ... and everything went as it is...Finally my trouble ended with me seeing my friend in the car to pick me up...Even their worry as to how I'll return back ended with this ...
So this is my great day2 in delhi..............

Day3
I
woke up at 5:00Am took a metro at 6:00...now know how to reach bus stand...did it...took a bus at 7 and finally arrived at the office by 1:00....................

Back to Pilani
N
othing much to say about it. But you know life was really horrible while travelling in a conjusted bus in the hot summer of a desert. This time, I dozed off leaning over others...hahaha...
And people at my work place were so worried as to how I would be returning back that even my mentor was very eager to listen to my experiences in the city.

I think you would have got totally wearied with this expatiation of mine...But this is all the heck that I faced at the fruition of "My safari to Delhi" .............

Anyway Great experience aaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
